As many of you know, at Keltic we like to give awards to school crossing patrol officers who have completed a considerable amount of years in the job. We recently reached out to the Lancashire region, asking for long-standing SCP’s to come forward. We were thrilled to come across Irene Reid, who has been a school crossing patrol officer in Lancashire for an amazing 48 years. Having recently been to present Irene with her award, here are a few extra words of congratulations, both from us and from Irene’s local council!
As a lead supplier of Road Safety Clothing, we at Keltic like to acknowledge the hard work of school crossing patrols. Specifically, we take time to recognise those SCP’s who have given a significant amount of years to their local community. Today we are looking at the Cheshire West and Chester region, and commending a lady who has completed an impressive length of service, and who has just this year decided to retire.
In January we decided to bring back one of our most popular competitions. Our aim was to find the longest-serving school crossing patrols in the country and acknowledge their hard work. Since January we have been inundated with entries from all over the UK. Thrilled with this, we have decided to extend our competition until the end of May so that we can give awards to even more SCP’s! In case you haven’t yet heard about our School Crossing Patrols Competition, here is a recap of what you could win, and how to enter.
As many of you know, Keltic Clothing stock for next day delivery, one of the best resources for Road Safety Education: the Street Feet Road Safety Training Kit. It is a product that we are particularly proud of as we know what a great resource it is for teaching children about road safety. We love it when we get to hear about people’s use of the kit with children in their community. That’s why we were thrilled when recently the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service recently informed us of the great work that they have been doing with one of our kits.
In 2014 Keltic announced a competition. We wanted to find the longest serving School Crossing Patrols in the country. These SCP’s would be given awards and prizes in acknowledgement of their service. The competition turned out to be very popular. We received a huge number of entries, and the hard work of SCP’s all over the UK was recognised. Due to the popularity of the competition we have decided to do it all over again!
In line with Road Safety week, we thought why not put up a short post to remind everyone of the great road safety products and school crossing patrol uniforms we have to offer! To celebrate we have just launched our brand new brochure! Collect your copy by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Being safe on the roads is one of the most important things to learn, so through road safety education tools such as our exclusive Street Feet kits and role play equipment, this does the trick in teaching children all they need to know in terms of safety.
Not just educational props, we also strive to provide the best School Crossing Patrol uniforms on the market. Our Superior and Standard Stop Range of jackets, gloves and trousers offer the best visibility for Patrols when working in turbulent conditions through the winter.
And we couldn’t finish this post without a quick mention of RSGB which was a huge success again this year in Bristol. Thank you to everyone who visited out stand to say hello and share a cupcake. It was great to chat with new and existing customers.
To purchase any of the above or for a chat feel free to call us on 08450 66 66 99 and ask for Steph Edwards. Alternatively drop up as email on email@example.com
Keltic Clothing are a specialist supplier of road safety and educational resources, cycle instructor uniforms and SCP clothing and equipment. We supply these to over two hundred local councils in the UK. Together with a number of these councils, this year we’ve been thinking about how to improve road safety training in Primary Schools. We have an exclusive new stock based product to help do this. After extensively researching the effectiveness of various methods of road safety training, we now stock (for next day delivery) a training resource based on our findings. We call this interactive Road Safety training kit Street Feet.
A School Crossing Patrol’s job can be tiring. They work in every weather, on their feet constantly, carrying around a particularly cumbersome object: a stop sign. Five years ago we set ourselves a mission to make SCP’s jobs easier. We decided to drastically improve the SCP stop sign. After a great deal of research on what would make the perfect stop sign, here’s what we came up with.
The summer months are approaching and the days are getting longer. This is children’s favourite time of year. They can more easily play outside, walk to friends’ houses and maybe even make their own way to and from school. But what kids don’t think about are the dangers inherent in these activities. Each year, and particularly in the summer months, an unacceptable amount of children are hit by cars in Britain. According to recent research , road accidents account for a third of accidental deaths among 0-14-year-olds and over half of accidental deaths for 5-14-year-olds. Tragically, many of these deaths are avoidable. The answer is road safety education. This article will discuss how road safety education in schools can significantly reduce the frequency of these incidents, and improve the safety and wellbeing of children in Britain.
On 18th-19th November we attended the Road Safety GB conference in Nottingham, and what a successful two days it was! With a lot of interest in our stand we got to speak to some lovely people over the course of the event, getting great feedback on our products.
This year we promoted our very popular Street Feet kit, which is the ideal educational resource for Road Safety Training. The kit models real life roads and crossings to allow children to practice route planning and road navigation in a safe environment. It features role-play tabards that help children to understand crossings, lights and signs, and destination mats with which to practice navigation. It’s something that we’re really proud of. To learn more about it just click here.
And Now The Important Bit… Free Food!
As with every year at the conference we had the opportunity to meet some wonderful new people whilst catching up with some more familiar faces. To everyone we handed out our edible lollipop signs along with our Road Safety themed cookies. They went down a storm! After several requests from our loyal customers we are looking to bring back the ever popular cupcakes next year!
Thank you to everyone who visited our stand and we hope to see you all again next year!
