My staff say their stab vests are too heavy – how should I respond?

The key thing your staff are telling you when they say “these anti stab vests are too heavy” is that they are uncomfortable. There are a number of factors affecting comfort – a major factor is weight, however equally important is the flexibility of the armour – if it is rigid or hardened it is much less likely to be comfortable. Flexible stab vests are also easier to manoeuvre in – therefore the wearer may find it easier to move away from threats.

Furthermore, it’s crucial to purchase a stab vest which can be adjusted at multiple points, and that your staff know how to use them. Good suppliers will offer some training for your staff free of charge to show them the basics of how to adjust and care for their anti stab vests.

Covert stab vests

The covert stab vest offers concealed protection and is one of our most popular stab vests. Because this stab vest is very flexible, the wearer can move freely, so the fact that they are wearing body armour is totally concealed. Our covert stab vests are fully adjustable at the shoulders and sides, giving maximum comfort levels. We recommend our 'Cool Dry T-Shirt' to wear underneath this covert stab vest.

All our covert stab vests are certified by the home office and carry the CE mark. For more information about choosing your body armour please see our How to choose your body armour page and also request a copy of our body armour brochure which has further information.

Our covert stab vest is available in the following sizes:

£259 (exc. VAT) to KR1 & SP1 Home Office knife and spike resistance standards, and including syringe and blunt trauma protection - request our brochure for more details.
