How to adjust
Our body armour is highly adjustable and can be adjusted to fit 99% of wearers comfortably, so it’s important when trying on body armour to adjust the vest as much as possible to ensure the right fit. We’ve put some information below on how to adjust our body armour to ensure it’s fitted correctly as well as for maximum comfort:
Body armour should be worn tight to the body, whilst still being comfortable to wear. The first time you adjust the body armour you may find it useful to get a friend or colleague to assist you.
Zip Front Carriers:
- Undo the adjustment points including the popper fasteners on the back flap of the carrier, the Velcro adjustment on the side/rear closures, the stomach strap, main zip and belt straps (if required). Leave the shoulder adjustment closed for the time being.
- Put the vest on and fasten the stomach strap securely around the front.
- Fasten up the belt loops. (It is recommended that your trouser belt is threaded through the belt loops when worn to help with equal weight distribution)
- Ensure the front armour panel is inserted in the ‘pouch’ in the left-hand-side of the front cover and then fully close the main zip.
- Loosen the shoulder Velcro and adjust until the bottom of the body armour is in line with the navel. Both shoulders should be adjusted evenly, then secure the shoulder Velcro.
- Secure the side/rear Velcro closures so that they are close-fitting and even on both sides, then close the popper fasteners on the rear flap.
Your body armour should now be adjusted correctly. From now on, when taking on/off your vest, all you have to do is open or close the main zip as you would do with a normal jacket. There may well be a gap below the bottom of the body armour and the top of your trousers. This is normal and allows flexibility and movement.
Tabard Style (overhead):
- Undo the side Velcro adjustment points and put the vest on over your head.
- Loosen the shoulder Velcro and adjust until the bottom of the body armour is in line with the navel. Both shoulders should be adjusted evenly, then secure the shoulder Velcro.
- Secure the side/rear Velcro closures so that they are close-fitting and even on both sides,
There may well be a gap below the bottom of the body armour and the top of your trousers. This is normal and allows flexibility and movement.
Bespoke sizes/Special makes
We find that most users can fit into our unisex sizes which we stock for next day delivery, however anyone above 6’2″ ft or female wearers who are larger than a D cup, special sizes may be necessary from a comfort and protection point of view. We’ve put some information here on special measurements

We’ve put some information here on special measurements
Chest measurement: We require the maximum reading whilst breathing in and holding the breath.
Waist measurement: Take this measurement whilst standing and seated. When seated we need the widest measurement. This measurement is not your trouser size.
