Street Feet Kit Road Safety Training Kit | A Community Asset | Testimonial
As many of you know, Keltic Clothing stock for next day delivery, one of the best resources for Road Safety Education: the Street Feet Road Safety Training Kit. It is a product that we are particularly proud of as we know what a great resource it is for teaching children about road safety. We love it when we get to hear about people’s use of the kit with children in their community. That’s why we were thrilled when recently the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service recently informed us of the great work that they have been doing with one of our kits.
What is a Street Feet Road Safety Training Kit?
For those of you who don’t already know, Street Feet is a road safety training kit that allows children to learn how to safely navigate roads whilst in a safe environment. It models real life roads and crossings and features role-play tabards that teach children the meaning of signs, lights and crossings. Children play the role of different road users allowing them to become aware of road patterns and their responsibilities. It’s a fun and interactive experience for children and it encourages deep learning.
How Street Feet Can Impact a Community
Having just one Street Feet Road Safety Training Kit within a community can have a huge positive impact on the road safety knowledge of the children that live there. If a council, for example, chooses to buy a kit, then this kit can be shared out between any number of educational establishments and reach an extraordinary amount of children. One can’t underestimate how important it is that young people understand how to safely use roads, and given the amount of young lives each kit can reach it really is a great asset for a community to have.
The Impact on Dumfries and Galloway
The people of Dumfries and Galloway in Scottland know the positive impact that one Street Feet Kit can have on a community. Local businessman Raymond Boyd, Managing Director of the Boyd Group, recently donated a kit to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. His doing so means that the SFRC have been able to get out into educational establishments throughout the community and teach children about road safety in a fun and interactive way.
Mr Boyd puts it best himself when he explains his reasons for the donation:
“As road accidents claim many lives and cause so many disabilities and injuries to children, I felt this was an ideal opportunity to help with the teaching of basic road safety to our local children. ‘Street Feet’ is a great aid to doing this and I was more than happy to buy this pack to donate to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service who now go out into the educational establishments and get the message across to local children.”
It gives us great joy to hear that Street Feet is facilitating the road safety training of many children in Dumfries and Galloway thanks to Mr Boyd’s kind generosity. We are proud that our product is having a positive impact on the lives of so many children and that people are recognising the good that can come from investing in these kits.
