Pointers to help choose the right size
Mens Pilot/Classic Shirts
Measure around the neck in inches ensuring the tape is not too high or pulled too tight. Shirt collar sizes go up in ½ inches. Our Pilot and Classic shirts are not a fitted or slim fit shirt and have a longer length, so a size down might be needed if you are used to a closer fit.
Ladies Pilot/Classic Shirts
Standing normally, measure across your bust making sure that the tape is at the fullest part and level across your shoulder blades. These come in dress sizes (size 8, size 10 etc) so you can use the above ‘General Size Guide’ to help convert your measurement if you are unsure of your size. Our ladies Pilot and Classic shirts are true to size.
Patrol/Polo Shirts
Stand normally and measure around the fullest part of your chest (under your arms), make sure the tape measure isn’t pulled too tight. Our Patrol Shirts are a very generous fit so if you prefer a more snug fit go a size down to what you normally would. Our Polo Shirts are pretty true to size.
Jumpers/Fleeces
Stand normally and measure around the fullest part of your chest (under your arms), make sure the tape measure isn’t pulled too tight. Our Jumpers and Patrol Fleeces are true to size, but the Standard Fleeces are a little snug so if you will be wearing a few layers underneath your fleece you might want to go one size up
Anoraks/Vests
Stand normally and measure around the fullest part of your chest (under your arms), make sure the tape measure isn’t pulled too tight. Remember, these items are to go over numerous other layers so bear that in mind when choosing your size.
Mens Trousers
Measure your waist where your trouser waistband normally sits. For your inside leg, stand normally and ask someone to measure your trousers from the crotch seam to the hem. For mens’ leg measurements go with one of these: S (Short, 29″), R (Regular, 31″) or L(Long, 33″). Our Patrol Trousers are a more modern, slimmer style so although they have ‘stretch’ these may feel slimmer, meaning you may want to go up a size. Our Polywool Trouser is more of a classic cut, with a wider straight leg and true to size waistband. Our Action Trousers are a similar cut to the Polywool but are more snug around the waist, so a size up is definitely suggested!
Ladies Trousers
Measure your waist where your trouser waistband normally sits. When measuring the hips go 8” down from your waist at the fullest part. For your inside leg, stand normally and ask someone to measure your trousers from the crotch seam to the hem. For ladies’ leg measurements go with one of these: S (Short, 27”), R(Regular, 29”) or L(Long 31”). Our Patrol Trousers are a more modern, slimmer style so although they have ‘stretch’ these may feel slimmer, meaning you may want to go up a size. Our Polywool Trouser is more of a classic cut, with a wider straight leg and a higher waist. Our Action Trousers are a similar cut to the Polywool but are snugger around the waist, so a size up is definitely suggested!
